Overview

Nohkalikai Falls is renowned as the tallest plunge waterfall in the country, cascading from a height of about 340 meters (1,115 feet). Its name, meaning "Jump of Ka Likai," originates from a tragic local legend where a woman named Likai leap off the cliff above the falls. Surrounded by lush greenery, the waterfall is particularly captivating during the monsoon season when it flows at its fullest. Accessible via a short hike, Nohkalikai Falls offers visitors breathtaking views and serves as both a natural marvel and a poignant cultural landmark in Meghalaya's landscape.
