Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Shillong Arrival ➤

(120km 3-4hrs road time)

Our trip begins as the car pick you up from the airport in Guwahati. We then stop to visit the Kamakhya Temple at Guwahati.We then transfer to Shillong, also called 'Scotland of the East’ While traveling view the majestic Umiam Lake surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. On reaching we will do a little local sightseeing then head to hotel and relax.

Day 2: Laitlum and Shillong Day trip ➤

(50 km 3hrs road time)

Today, begin with a relaxing breakfast and explore the stunning Laitlum Canyons for breathtaking panoramic views. Afterwards, return to Shillong to discover its many attractions and end the day with a walking tour of the city. Soak in the local culture, explore the city's sights, and end the day with cherished memories.

Day 3: Shillong – Shnongpdeng - Mawlynnong ➤

(120km 4-5hrs road time)

Yet another destination that is a must-include during the visit is Dawki. We start the day early and on the way we take a detour to visit the Nartiang monoliths garden. We then move along and visit the beautiful Phe Phe Falls and Krang Suri falls on the way. The water here is as blue as the sky, clean transparent and above all cold. After this we visit Krang Suri Fall. The tranquil ambience and charming beauty of this place can rejuvenate your soul. We then reach Shnongpdeng and enjoy the different water activities available in the Crystal Clear Umngot river which has gain a reputation as “the cleanest river in India” . Travel to Mawlynnong Village where we spend the night. along the way catch a glimpse of two beautiful waterfalls Umkrem and Borhill.

Day 4: Mawlynnong – Wahkhen - Sohra ➤

(80kms 2-3hrs road time)

Waking up in Mawlynnong which has earned a reputation for being one of the cleanest villages in Asia, but a sobriquet that does more justice is that of God’s Own Garden. and later head to Riwai Root bridge in the neighboring village. Drive to Wakhen for the thrilling Mawrynkhang Trail (bamboo cliff trek). (this is a whole day trek and takes you around several rivers and cliffs on bamboo platforms to a solitary standing rock famous in the khasi folklore. Anyone afraid of heights should avoid this!) The trail takes you all the way to the pinnacle of the eponymous U Mawrynkhang, a majestic, legendary rock that soars skywards from the base of a lush river valley cloaked in forest and commands a regal presence over the surrounding wilderness.

Day 5: Sohra ➤

(80kms 3-4hrs road time)

Sohra is a paradise for nature lovers and this little town has some of the most incredible tourist spots that will leave you in awe. We start a day by moving towards the Garden of Caves . Garden of Caves is an amazingly beautiful place near Sohra, which is decorated by nature herself — the place is beautifully organized by caves, rocky hills, waterfalls, narrow streams, and endless greenery. Next we head to Nohkalikai Falls. Plunging from a height of 1115 feet, We then go to nearby Mawsmai Cave. Mawsmai cave is a breathtaking maze of caves in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya.

Day 6: Sohra – Nongriat (Double Dekker Day Trip) ➤

(30kms -1hr road time)

We start the day by trekking to One of the most famous spots which is the Double Decker Living Roots Bridge. A naturally created bridge, this bridge was made by the locals of the towns by tying the living roots of the trees for decades. . There are more than 3000 steps that we have to trek down. Stop below the Hanging Bridges for a dip in the Crystal-Clear Natural Swimming Pools. (THIS IS A WHOLE DAY ACTIVITY AND THE CLIMBS ARE STEEP). After completing the whole trek, we trek back up the steps and head back to the hotel to get a well-deserved rest after a tiring but awesome day.

Day 7: Sohra Day of Adventure ➤

(30km 1-2hrs road time)

This day we start the day early and head to Arwah Cave. Known for its limestone formations and the fossils, it is one of the popular caves in Meghalaya. Surrounded by the thick forest of Law Shynna in Meghalaya, Arwah Cave is an absolute treat for adventure and archaeology junkies. After this we head to Mawkma Village which has many beautiful waterfalls and crystal clear pools which we can have a dip. (We can have a small picnic lunch here as well.) We head back to the hotel.

Day 8: Sohra – Mawlyngbna ➤

(100kms 3-4hrs road time)

We start the day pretty early as we have quite a drive to Mawlyngbna. On the way we take a short detour at Mawngap and visist the Mawphlang Sacred Forest and take a guided tour of the forest after which we have a have set up local lunch arranged by Gososmewhere. We then get back on our way to Mawlyngbna and stop to Visit Mawjingbuin Cave en route which has a stalagmite considered for its spirituality as a ‘shiv ling’ in the Hindu religion.Visit UmkakhoiResevior for sunset and still water kayaking. We head to the hotel where we call it a day.

Day 9: Mawlyngbna River Canyoning ➤

(No Driving involved)

Get ready for a day filled with adventure and amazing activities. We first head to Iew Luri Lura this area holds fossils and is the location According to local folklore it was a marketplace for animals thousands of years back. After this we start for the river canyoning which is the focus of today. With the help of local guides we trek through the length of the river to Umakhakoi Water Reservoir. In this trek we get to jump, dive, swim, rappel and slide throughout the length of the river and for those who can't swim, life jackets will be provided for everyone who is doing the trek. We end the trek by kayaking in the still water of Umkhakoi.

Day 10: Mawlyngbna – Mawphanlur ➤

(160kms 4-5hrs road time)

We start the day early and we begin our journey to Mawphanlur. We stop at Mairang Village where we visit Khudoi Falls. After this we drive to Kyllang Rock which is just an hour from Khudoi Falls. Kyllang Rock is an impressive natural monolith – a giant grey dome that juts out of the pine forests of West Khasi Hills. The view from the top of the rock is spectacular. After visiting these two places we them head to our final destination which is Mawphanlur Village. Picturesque high-altitude meadows sprinkled with small lakes and cottages – that is one way to describe Mawphanlur. An overnight trip is recommended so you can enjoy the starlit skies and cool temperatures that come with the nighttime. The biggest visual attraction of Mawphanlur is the verdant scenery that would make a romantic poet gush.

Day 11: Mawphanlur - Guwahati ➤

(160kms 5-6hrs road time)

We start our last day by enjoying a quiet and peaceful morning in the village. We then leave and head to Kynshi Hanging Bridge. After spending a few minutes walking on the bridge , we return to our vehicle where we’ll then head to Markham Village. A location where you may see the undulating hills is Markham Valley, a vantage point from which there is a broad view of the low-lying hills from the hill’s summit. It is very scenic and peaceful and is highly recommended to complete either on the previous day or the last. After Markham we return to Shillong where we finish any last-minute shopping. We head to Guwahati with a short stop in Umiam Lake again for a little speed boating and take photos as we prepare to bid Meghalaya goodbye. We drive to the airport, and we say our parting goodbyes to the Northeast.
