Sohra, also known as Cherrapunji, is a town located in the northeastern state of Meghalaya in India. Sohra is connected to the rest of Meghalaya and nearby states through road networks. The nearest major city is Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya. It also known for its breathtaking natural beauty, including stunning waterfalls, lush forests, and unique rock formations. It's a place where the marvels of the natural world are on full display, and visitors can witness the harmonious relationship between humans and their environment.

Itinerary
  • Start from Shillong  and drive to Sohra 

  • Stop at Mawkdok, a spectacular vantage point. The valley offers a breathtaking panoramic view with its beautiful deep gorges. 

  • Drive toward Mawkma Village, visit Lyngksiar Falls and Prut Falls

  • Move to Wei Sawdong Falls viewpoint and the tranquil Dainthlen Falls  

  • Explore the mystique of Arwah Cave, an accessible cave system for exploring limestone formations and fossils.  

  • Visit the Nohkalikai Falls the tallest plungewaterfall in India and marvel at its grandeur. 

  • Drive toward Nongsawlia Presbyterian Church, the oldest church in Meghalaya and the first Presbyterian Church in both Meghalaya and North East India.  

  • Visit Nohsngithiang (Seven Sister Waterfall).  

  • Drive back to Shillong.

  • Nohkalikai Viewpoint - Nohkalikai fall is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 340m (1,115 ft).  

  • Arwah Cave - Arwah Cave in Meghalaya is renowned for its exquisite stalactite and stalagmite formations 

  • Nongsawlia Presbyterian Church - The Nongsawlia Presbyterian Church is a historic landmark known for its unique architecture and cultural significance in the region. 

  • Weisawdong Falls – is a three-step waterfall that resembles a pool  

  • Dainthlen Falls- The Dainthlen Falls is a straight drop of around 80 metres with a rich folktale passed on for generations.
