Overview

Walking across a living root bridge, you step into the embrace of nature's own architecture. The living root bridges of Meghalaya, are natural wonders created by guiding the roots of Ficus Elastica trees across rivers, allowing them to take root and grow stronger overtime. These bridges can be hundreds of years old and are still in use by the local Khasi. They're not only functional but also blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, showcasing the ingenuity of humans working in harmony with nature. But unlike the other root bridges these are not too touristy so we can enjoy the nature and these structure without being disturbed by the crowd.
